Canada sends Ukraine a new batch of LAV II ACSV Super Bison armoured personnel carriers

Canada has sent a new batch of LAV II ACSV Super Bison armoured personnel carriers to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Here's What We Know

We are talking about 4 out of 50 APCs, which Canada bought for Ukraine. The transfer of armoured vehicles was announced back in 2023. The contract amounted to $650 million. First, the armoured personnel carriers will arrive in one of the countries of the European Union, where the Ukrainian military will undergo a training programme. After that, the combat vehicles will be sent to Ukraine.

Flashback

The LAV II ACSV Super Bison is a modern armoured personnel carrier developed on the basis of the LAV II platform. The APC is designed to provide mobility and protection of troops. The Super Bison is equipped with a powerful engine and independent suspension, providing high cross-country capability and speed on rough terrain. The vehicle's armour provides protection against small arms, shrapnel and mines. The LAV II ACSV has a modular design that allows it to be adapted for various tasks, such as medical evacuation, command post and cargo transport. The APC has a modern fire control system and can be armed with machine guns and grenade launchers.
