Google launches Gemini for teens with school accounts and Read Along feature
Google has announced the launch of a new initiative, Gemini, aimed at supporting the educational process among teenagers using school accounts.
Here's What We Know
This artificial intelligence-based tool will allow teenagers to access a variety of features designed to improve their learning capabilities. In particular, the chatbot will be available for teenagers with educational accounts in more than 100 countries and will have a language interface in English.
Google also announced the launch of Read Along, which allows students to practice reading and receive real-time support. The option is available in English, but it is planned to expand to other languages, starting with Spanish.
Google's new service for educational users has security measures, including administrator approval of changes, blocking direct messages between students, and active blocking of compromised devices.
Google also talked about several accessibility features for Chromebooks and the Chrome browser, including a read-aloud option in Chrome's reading mode, text extraction from PDFs in Chrome for screen reading, and a proprietary Project Gameface feature coming later this year.
