Dave the Diver has sold over 4 million copies in a year, with the developers of the hit game thanking the public and promising "many more dives together" with gamers

Adventurer Dave the Diver was released exactly one year ago - on 28 June 2023 and became one of the major indie hits.

In honour of the game's anniversary, the developers addressed the public and talked about their successes.

Here's What We Know

First of all, Mintrocket Studios' Game Director Jaeho Hwang thanked gamers for their support and overwhelming interest in Dave the Diver, and thanked Sony and Nintendo for their co-operation.

Jaeho Hwang said that Dave the Diver's digital sales alone have surpassed 4 million copies, with even more players turning out to play the game as it is available on the PS Plus subscription service.

The developer noted that Dave the Diver "became a really popular guy" and started appearing in other games, for example, in Goddes of Victory: Nikke from developers Stellar Blade you can play a mini-version of Dave the Diver.

The developers plan to "spend many more years and co-operative dives with gamers," which apparently means plans for long term support for Dave the Diver.
