Exclusive to iPhone 16: new MagSafe magnetic charger dramatically speeds up charging of new iPhones

Apple has announced a new iPhone 16 series that includes many improvements, including support for an improved MagSafe charger.

Here's What We Know

The new device offers significantly faster charging, but only for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models. It's available in two cable lengths: 1 metre for $39 and 2 metres for $49. The new MagSafe charger can charge the iPhone 16 with up to 25W when used with a 30W or higher charging module, a significant increase over previous models that supported charging up to 15W.

Unfortunately, owners of older iPhone models won't be able to take advantage of this speed as they only support charging up to 14W. The new MagSafe charger is compatible with iPhone 12 and later models, but it doesn't provide them with faster charging speeds. It's already available to order from the Apple Store and may go on sale soon. The MagSafe charger is not bundled with the iPhone 16, so it must be purchased separately.
