It's official that following the release of Baldur's Gate III, Belgium-based Larian Studios has begun work on two games on its own IP.

Of course, after the resounding success of RPG 2023, the public is eagerly awaiting the release of more games from Larian. But it looks like gamers shouldn't expect that to happen anytime soon.

Here's What We Know

At the SEA Game Awards 2024 event, where Baldur's Gate III took home another award, Larian head Swen Vincke made a statement that garnered a lot of attention.

He said that his new game won't be released until 2028-2029 at the earliest. Vincke is happy about the new award, but the developer honestly admitted that his team will have to work very hard to earn the same recognition "five years from now".

Journalists from many publications wanted to discuss with the game director of Larian Studios about the release dates of the new games, but he refused to give any specific comments.

Taking into account the resources, budgets and time expenditures required to create high-end games, which the Belgians are releasing, the dates announced by Vinke look quite realistic.
