Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Tab A7 will no longer receive Android and security updates

Samsung has removed the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Tab A7 mobile devices from its list of updated devices. These models will no longer receive security updates or major Android updates.

Here's What We Know

Although Samsung has improved its update policy by providing new devices with up to seven years of support, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Tab A7 were released before this initiative and have only been receiving updates for about four years.

This decision doesn't mean that the devices will stop working, but the lack of security updates could leave them vulnerable to malicious attacks. Therefore, users who care about system security in their smartphone or tablet should buy a newer device. In the meantime, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will continue to receive security updates until 2026.
