Gothic Remake developers showed off the updated Rice Fields, one of the game's starting locations

THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive continue to share information and screenshots of the remake of the famous Gothic game.

Gamers have already been shown several updated monsters and locations, including Old Camp, Swamp Camp and Mine Valley.

Now the turn has come to the Rice Fields.

Here's What We Know

Rice Fields is one of the first locations the player gets to. Here in the open air and in any weather peasants are engaged in exhausting labour.

Here is how the developers describe this place:

This is the domain of the Rice Lord, one of the founders of the New Camp, who with his minions strictly monitors order and suppresses any manifestations of disobedience.

The rice harvest is the mainstay of the camp's economy, as it not only provides sustenance but also allows the production of rice schnapps, which is in high demand throughout the colony. However, discontent is brewing among the workers, many of them disillusioned with this way of life and ready for a change.

When We Can Expect It

It is still unknown when Gothic Remake will be released. It is expected to happen in 2025.

The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
