Game of the day: Loco Motive - a light detective game with witty humour and pixelated graphics

For the next 2 weeks, I'll be playing and discussing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, but if your PC doesn't support the game or you have a Steam Deck, you should look at other releases. For example, Loco Motive.

Here's What We Know

Loco Motive is a pixelated 2D quest. On the eve of a historic speech by a wealthy heiress, Lady Unterwald, an honest lawyer, a novice detective, and an undercover spy find themselves involved in a mysterious murder. Now they are stuck on board a luxury train and must prove their innocence.

So we will play as 3 heroes, solving puzzles in search of proof of their innocence.

Features of the game:

  • A comedic adventure set aboard a 1930s high-speed train
  • Control three characters
  • Uncover a deadly mystery full of surprises, twists and turns, and silly humour
  • Meet a train full of eccentric and somewhat suspicious fellow travellers
  • Gorgeous detailed pixel animation

The game has a free demo version and is fully compatible with Steam Deck, so you can easily play it on a real train.

Where To Play

The game is available on PC on Steam and Nintendo Switch for $16.
