Gourmet: Apple has no plans for major AirPods Max updates after USB-C version
According to the latest insider report by Mark Gurman, Apple does not intend to make any major updates to its AirPods Max headphones after the release of the USB-C model in early 2024.
Here's What We Know
The AirPods Max were released in December 2020 for $549 and have not received updates for almost four years. Only in September 2024, a version with USB-C and several new colours appeared. However, there were no significant updates, such as the H2 chip or adaptive audio.
Gourmet notes that despite the high price, AirPods Max have their audience. However, their low popularity among buyers does not allow Apple to invest in the development of new models.
The company will leave the headphones in their current form for several more years, and no price reduction is expected at the moment.
