The European company Helsing has officially announced a new HX-2 attack drone designed for modern combat operations. This model combines high autonomy, resistance to electronic warfare, and the ability to work as part of a swarm. On 18 November 2024, Bild wrote that Germany would provide Ukraine with 4,000 such drones, which Defence Minister Boris Pistorius called "mini-Tauruses".
Here's What We Know
The HX-2 is a compact electric x-wing drone capable of flying up to 100 km. It is equipped with intelligent software that allows it to operate in difficult conditions, including countering electronic warfare. The platform supports integration with Altra, an AI control system for coordinating a swarm of drones. One of the key advantages is the ability of the operator to control a large number of drones simultaneously, ensuring maximum efficiency.
The main weapon of the HX-2 is a multifunctional munition for destroying tanks and construction sites. The device supports wireless updates to ensure adaptation to new tactical challenges.

Technical characteristics of the Helsing HX-2
- Range: up to 100 km
- Maximum speed: 220 km/h
- Weight: 12 kg
- Features: resistance to electronic warfare, autonomous control
Here's How It Works
The Helsing HX-2 drone has already been tested in real combat conditions, including in Ukraine, where it demonstrates high accuracy and adaptability. Thanks to AI, drones perform tasks in conditions of limited communication, and all critical decisions remain under human control.
According to Helsing, the HX-2 is a response to modern challenges, including increasing threats in cyberspace and the expansion of electronic warfare technologies. The new system provides a reliable tool for both defence and offensive operations. Commercial production has already been deployed in Europe, ensuring rapid delivery of the technology.
