No other game in the world is causing such a stir as the new instalment of Grand Theft Auto.

No one doubts that GTA 6 will demonstrate a technological breakthrough and once again bring the cult crime franchise to a new level, and with it raise the bar for the entire gaming industry.

It's no secret that the biggest developers are so afraid of competition with the novelty from Rockstar Games, that they don't name the release dates of their games or postpone them. And it seems that they are afraid for a reason.

Here's What We Know

Journalists Financial Times turned to several analytical agencies with questions about the potential success of Grand Theft Auto VI and experts made some loud predictions.

Thus, analysts expect that:

  • GTA 6's budget will reach $2bn (no game has even come close to $1bn, let alone such figures);
  • pre-orders are expected to be so numerous that their revenue will reach $1 billion (we emphasise that this is BEFORE the release of the game!);
  • the total revenue of the game in the first year after release will reach $3.2bn - twice as much as GTA 5;
  • GTA 6's release will surpass the biggest movie premieres of 2024, even Inside Out 2 with $1.7 billion and Deadpool Wolverine with $1.3 billion.

GTA VI is expected to kick-start and revitalise the gaming industry, which will see consumer spending on gaming content grow by 2.2% to $195bn this year.

When We Can Expect It

GTA VI is expected to release in autumn 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series.
