Fighting game fans are in for a bombshell: Sega has revealed the first footage of the new Virtua Fighter instalment on the game's engine
In December at The Game Awards 2024 Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku studio (the author of Yakuza/ Like a Dragon) announced a new part of the once popular fighting game series Virtua Fighter.
At that time the public was presented a short cinematic trailer, and today it was possible to estimate how the new game will look like.
Here's What We Know
At the CES-2025 exhibition within the framework of NVIDIA presentation Sega presented a short trailer of the new part of Virtua Fighter.
The company emphasised that the shown footage is recorded on the game engine, but it is not a gameplay demonstration - this video is better to call it a concept video.
Gamers were shown a fight between two identical characters: Akira - the symbol of Virtua Fighter series - fought with his own alter ego. The game looks really spectacular, spectacular and modern, and if Ryu Ga Gotoku keeps this level of fighting game development, then Tekken, Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter will have a strong competitor.
Virtua Fighter's release date is still unknown, but it's unlikely to be expected in the next few years.
