Microsoft Corporation is once again conducting a wave of layoffs. The next round of layoffs is not as large as the previous two. Recall that 10,000 employees lost their jobs in 2023, and another 1,900 people in early 2024.

Here's What We Know

As reported by Business Insider, Microsoft management plans to lay off "a small number of employees," and this is not the 1% of "inefficient employees" previously reported.

The exact number of jobs to be cut is not specified, but it is stated that the wave will affect gaming divisions the most. Obviously, we're talking about Xbox's internal studios, which have already suffered significantly in the past year - just recall There will be no sequel to The Evil Within and Pray: Microsoft is shutting down Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin and two other studios, a studio that everyone praised at the time for its excellent action game Hi-Fi Rush.
