Immediately after Sony Interactive Entertainment has abandoned the dual CEO model: what changes have taken place in the PlayStation management? Sony's management, the company has announced some important news that will delight PC gamers.

Here's What We Know

In order to access all former PlayStation exclusives and some of Sony's new releases on PC, it was necessary to link a user account to the PlayStation Network service. In addition to adding another unnecessary application on PCs, this decision made it impossible to purchase games in over two hundred countries and select regions, which caused a strong reaction from gamers.

Sony has announced that it will remove the PSN requirement from many of its games and it will start with Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which will be released tomorrow.

The company will make tethering to the PlayStation Network an optional feature and offer in-game bonuses for that action, such as:

  • In Marvel's Spider-Man 2, it will be an early unlock of the 2099 Black Suit for Peter Parker and the 2099 Suit for Miles Morales;
  • in God of War: Ragnarok - the ability to use the unique Black Bear armour from the New Game+ mode in the standard playthrough, as well as a set of resources;
  • in The Last of Us: Part II Remastered - guarantees a jacket of the heroine of the yet-to-be-released game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet for Ellie and 50 points to unlock additional content;
  • Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered - unlocks the Nora's Valour costume.

It's unlikely that such bonuses will entice many players to sign up for PSN, but Sony promises that its internal studios will continue to work on introducing more substantial benefits.
