As part of significant changes in the management of Sony Interactive Entertainment, the company has abandoned the dual CEO model, which was introduced less than a year ago.

Here's What We Know

Hideaki Nishino will now become the sole CEO of PlayStation, while Hermen Hulst will focus on leading the PlayStation studios.

Following the departure of Jim Ryan in May 2024, Hulst and Nishino were appointed co-CEOs, sharing responsibilities between them. However, according to Nishino, this structure had both opportunities and risks. Now, by concentrating leadership in one hand, Sony hopes to manage more effectively.

The changes will take effect from 1 April 2025. Hulst will continue to lead the PlayStation studios, focusing on the development of exclusive games for the PlayStation 5. And Nishino will be responsible for the overall management of the company and the development of the platform.
