Publisher 2K and studio Firaxis Games made an announcement - VR-version of 4X-strategy Sid Meier's Civilisation VII.

Here's What We Know

The developers announced that for the first time a game of Civilisation series will be available on Meta Quest 3 and 3S virtual and augmented reality headsets.

Games of this genre are almost never released on virtual reality devices, and such a large project will probably be the first. The game's executive producer Dennis Shirk said that "the announcement of Civilisation VII VR marks our first step into the exciting world of virtual and mixed reality."

Sid Meier's Civilisation VII VR will release on Meta Quest in Spring 2025 and will offer unique interactions. The developers will offer a new perspective on the events of the game, the opportunity to literally stand next to famous historical characters, personally declare war and make alliances.

Firaxis Games promises to intelligently adapt the game to VR-control, will offer a new interface, which will allow you to project the events of the game on the table and realise single and multiplayer mode (up to 4 players).

Recall, the release of Sid Meier's Civilisation VII consists on PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch on 11 February. The first players were not too satisfied with the strategy, but the developers are already working on fixing the detected problems, as well as preparing extensive post-release content support.
