Marvel Rivals developers deny rumours of deliberate placement of fake characters in game files to troll dataminers

For some time now, players have been saying that the authors of Marvel Rivals have been deliberately placing fake characters in the game's files to confuse dataminers, but the developers have categorically denied such actions. In an interview with IGN, producer Weiwong Wu and executive producer Danny Koo stated that they are not engaged in "trolling" the community and are focused on developing real content for the game.
Here's What We Know
Earlier, there were rumours that Marvel Rivals developers deliberately added fake characters to the game files to misinform those involved in information leaks.
Weiwong Wu noted that the development process for each character is complex and involves many concepts, prototypes, and testing. Because of this, the code may contain traces of previously considered but rejected ideas that will not necessarily be implemented in the final version of the game.
Danny Koo added that the situation with leaks is similar to "someone finding drafts without context", which can lead to false conclusions.
Therefore, treat such leaks with caution and trust only official announcements.
