Activision isn't ready to give up on PS4 and Xbox One: a reliable insider has revealed that the new Call of Duty instalment will be available on last-gen consoles

It's no secret that more than half of the fans of the Call of Duty series are last generation console users. That's why Activision has not yet refused to release new shooters on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, although the new platforms are available from 2020.
Part of the gamers hope that the developer will abandon obsolete consoles, since their support slows down the technical development of Call of Duty, but it seems that the publisher is not yet ready for such a radical change.
Here's What We Know
Reputable insider CharlieIntel reported that according to his sources the next instalment of Call of Duty, which is expected in autumn 2025, will also be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
This means that gamers should not expect significant technological improvements. Moreover, CharlieIntel makes reasonable assumptions that the support of last generation consoles does not allow Call of Duty: Warzone to develop as well, as it is now impossible to add two huge maps or significantly improve graphics.
Call of Duty 2025 could still release on PS4 and Xbox One, per sources. Supporting last-gen in 2025 is a wild decision, but the game is in development for the older consoles from what we've heard.

This may be a reason as to why there can't be two big maps in Warzone at the same time. pic.twitter.com/mfkmOR65Fz
That said, many gamers are in favour of ending support for Warzone on PS4 and Xbox One and focusing on the current generation.
