Mojang has no plans to switch Minecraft to a free-to-play model: "It's the best offer in the world"

At a time when many games are switching to the free-to-play model, Minecraft continues to adhere to the traditional sales model. Mojang developers have confirmed that they have no plans to change this strategy.

In an interview with IGN, executive producer of Minecraft Vanilla, Ingela Garneij, explained that the game was originally created for a different purpose, and free-to-play monetisation is not suitable for it.
She emphasised that after purchasing the game, players get full access at no additional cost, which makes Minecraft accessible to a wide audience. Garney called it "the best deal in the world".
And it's a great solution, as the absence of microtransactions and battle passes allows players to enjoy the game at no extra cost.
