The developers from Naughty Dog, preparing for the release of The Last of Us Part 2 on PC, expressed a positive attitude towards modifications of the game by the community. Matthew Gallant, the game's director, noted that mods can make the game more comfortable for players and expand their experience.

Here's What We Know

Gallant emphasised that the release of the game on PC opens up new opportunities for modifications, giving the community more freedom for creativity. He also noted that the team is interested in seeing how players modify the game and believes that such modifications can give the developers new ideas for improving the game.

When Gallant was asked about the possibility of mods replacing the game's characters with, for example, Shrek, he said that the team welcomes any community interaction with their projects, even if it includes "ridiculous edits". He added that video games have a unique feature - players bring a lot of their own to the gaming experience, and this complements the story the game tells.

The Last of Us Part 2 is coming to PC on 3 April and has already received the official Steam Deck Verified status. Players can check out the PC requirements and other details ahead of the release at this link.
