Activision, known for its love of crossovers in the Call of Duty universe, has faced criticism from the community for overly extravagant skins and events that players believe make the game less serious. However, the company understands deep down that this is really strange.

Here's What We Know

According to the insider TheGhostofHope, Activision is aware of the negative feedback regarding strange skins and irrelevant crossovers in the game. He noted that the company is considering a more restrained approach to the introduction of new skins, gangs, and microtransactions in Warzone.

Although crossovers bring in significant revenue, Activision has heard criticism that the game is starting to look "silly".

Previously, Call of Duty players preferred militaristic imagery, but with the advent of free-to-play battle royale and the increase in microtransactions, the game has been filled with numerous crossovers and collaborations with musicians, TV shows, films, and other games.

While these crossovers generate significant revenue, fans of the series have expressed fatigue with the game's overly bright and unrealistic costumes.
