Disney showed the "real" lightsaber from Star Wars (+ video)
Disney will unveil the most authentic lightsaber from Star Wars next year, and a new promotional video has suddenly shown it close-up.
What we know
Earlier this year, there were rumors of Disney working on what fans were quick to call a "real lightsaber. That's because the lightsaber blade extended independently from the hilt and looked almost as realistic as it did in the Star Wars movies. Of course, it's not a real light blade, but it's still something that looks better than the huge light bulb on the hilt like in the other copies.
When the first video of the sword appeared a month later, it was announced that this "real" sword would likely debut in Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World, an immersive, hotel-like Star Wars project expected to open in 2022.
But now, new footage of the sword has emerged in a very interesting video from Walt Disney Imagineering. And while it's just a snapshot, it's really gorgeous. Here's the full video; the main opening happens at 44 seconds.
In the video, by the way, there are a lot of interesting things, like the "live" Groot or the Web-Slingers attraction from the inside. But Star Wars fans, let's be honest, are only interested in this lightsaber. Isn't that right?
