Google unveiled Pixel Pass subscription: company-branded services and Pixel 6 with extended warranty for $45 a month
As expected, along with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones, Google announced the Pixel Pass subscription at an event on October 19.
What's known
Pixel Pass is essentially a counterpart to Apple One, but with a few key differences. The subscription has two plans: the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro. The former costs $45 per month, while the latter costs $55. For that money, the customer gets the device itself, an extended warranty on it, and access to YouTube Premium, YouTube Music Premium, Google Play Pass, and 200GB of Google One cloud storage.
According to Google, you can save up to $294 over two years with Pixel Pass. If you include the Google Fi plan with your subscription, the savings will increase to $414 compared to buying the phone and all of the aforementioned services separately. You can cancel the subscription at any time, but you won't be able to return the smartphone. The customer will have to pay the remaining amount of the device, at that the price of the smartphone will be standard.
For now the subscription Pixel Pass is only available to users in the United States. A little later it may appear in Europe.
