Counterpoint Research: Amazfit has become one of the three largest manufacturers of smart watches
Amazfit became the third largest smartwatch manufacturer in the world, surpassing Huawei in the third quarter of 2021. This is stated in the report of the analytical agency Counterpoint Research.
From July to September inclusive, Amazfit delivered 9.9 million smartwatches to the market. In comparison with the third quarter of 2020, it managed to almost double its shipments (+ 89%). At the same time, the market share increased to 5.8%.
In the reporting period, the company's smart watches were popular in the countries of the European Union. In particular, in Germany, Italy, Spain. For example, in Germany, Amazfit shipments have grown two and a half times in a year. In addition, Amazfit more than quadrupled its shipments in Turkey (+ 324%). The best selling models were the GTR2e and T-Rex Pro.
Beating Huawei, Amazfit is now inferior to only two giants: Apple and Samsung. The Cupertino-based company remains the leader, controlling 21.8% of the market. But its share in comparison with the base period fell by 10%. In turn, record shipments of Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic allowed Samsung to occupy 14.4% of the smartwatch market (up from 9.9%).
