Another Xiaomi smartphone exploded - it began to smoke like a cigarette
Almost every month there is information about spontaneous combustion of smartphones in India. This time, the source of danger was the state employee Redmi 9 Prime.
Twitter user @harrysaluja shared two pictures of the device. One depicts an already mutilated model, the other one can see a device wrapped in smoke.
@XiaomiIndia @Xiaomi @ndtv @htTweets @timesofindia @consumerforum_ I purchased a phone from Flipkart 5 months back of Redmi 9 Prime. Today, suddenly its battery burst and burning like hot lava. I requesting to all of you, please look into it and help me to get replacement of it. pic.twitter.com/6ojOA36GAk

Later, @shariqkyusufzai, the brother of the owner of Redmi 9 Prime, posted a short video showing how a smartphone is smoking like a cigarette. Smoke comes even from the hole in which the fingerprint scanner is installed.
Eventually my first ever tweet.

Xiaomi India and Redmi India reacted to the publications. The company promises to investigate the situation. The owner of Redmi 9 Prime demands compensation and a new smartphone.
Some resources write that Xiaomi has offered a new phone in exchange for removing the smoking model from Twitter. But we did not find confirmation of these words.
