Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the company intends to licence its FSD autonomous driving system to other carmakers.
Here's What We Know
According to Musk, the company is already in talks with a major component manufacturer about the possibility of using Tesla's FSD. He also announced a "one-time amnesty" in the third quarter that will allow car owners to transfer their existing FSD subscription to a new vehicle.
The company had previously revealed its patented charging port design to the rest of the manufacturers. Mercedes, Volvo, Rivian, Ford and GM vehicles will use the design for their North American models starting with the 2024 model year.
Texas went a step further and required state-funded EV charging stations to meet this standard.
