Tesla's safety system allowed the teddy bear to use Full Self-Driving drone mode

The beta version of the Full Self-Driving (FSD) autonomous driving system in Tesla cars has allowed a teddy bear to drive the car.

Tesla cars with the FSD package are equipped with software that doesn't allow unmanned mode if the driver isn't watching the road. However, youtuber AI Addict was able to fool the safety system using a variety of inanimate objects, including balloons with faces and stuffed toys.

To fool the Tesla's camera, all you have to do is put a teddy bear in the driver's seat. AI Addict claims it managed to drive on a closed road for a full 10 minutes, after which the test was terminated early. The car was still unable to detect the toy behind the wheel.

Also involved in the experiment was a mannequin of a child crossing the road. Each time during the test, the unmanned Tesla hit a theoretical pedestrian when the toy was behind the wheel.

The test results were able to be confirmed even with a balloon. The car had no problem activating the unmanned mode and hit the child dummy time after time.
