Humane has announced AI Pin, a compact wearable gadget that works with artificial intelligence models from Microsoft, OpenAI and others.

Here's What We Know

AI Pin is a small square module that attaches magnetically to clothing. Its weight is 34 grams. It also separately connects to it a battery pack weighing 20 grams.

The device is powered by a Snapdragon processor. The gadget is equipped with a camera, microphone, speaker and laser projector. The latter allows you to display information on the palm of the user's hand.

AI Pin is controlled by voice and gestures, and the device has no screen or buttons. Its main purpose is to call on AI models to perform various tasks. Humane claims that one of its key functions is to access ChatGPT.

Activation of the AI Pin is done with a tap tap tap tap tap tap tap. The company claims that the device does not record continuously, and a special indicator lights up when the camera or microphone is activated.

The device is powered by the Cosmos operating system, which automatically directs user requests to the right AI tools. This will do away with downloading and managing apps.

Humane is positioning the AI Pin as a future-proof solution that will evolve as AI models improve. There are plans to add navigation, shopping capabilities, and other features in the future.

Price & When We Can Expect It

Pre-orders for the device will open on 16 November, with US shipments starting in early 2024.

The gadget will cost $699. In addition, Humane will have to pay $24 per month for a subscription, which allows you to get a phone number and data coverage through T-Mobile's network.
