Stability AI, known for its Stable Diffusion technology for image synthesis, has announced the release of Stable Code 3B, a new artificial intelligence model for generating programming code.
Here's What We Know
The model contains 3 billion parameters and is focused on augmenting and completing code for software development. At the same time, it is capable of running locally on ordinary laptops, providing performance at the level of larger analogues.
According to the developers, Stable Code 3B demonstrates the best results among models of this size in a number of metrics and outperforms competing solutions, including CodeLLaMA from Meta and StarCoder.
Improvements over the first version include the ability to fill large code gaps and an expanded context size of up to 100,000 tokens. The model has been trained in 18 programming languages, including Python, Java, JavaScript and others.
Stable Code 3B is already available as part of Stability AI's commercial subscription, along with the company's other image, text, audio and video tools.
