Renowned computer vision expert Andrej Karpathy has left OpenAI - for the second time
Artificial intelligence researcher and OpenAI co-founder Andrej Karpathy has announced his departure from the company to focus on his own project.

Karpathy is one of the founders of OpenAI. In 2017, he had already left the company to join Tesla. Karpati worked there for five years before returning to OpenAI in February 2023.
The specialist has also gained huge popularity on social media and YouTube, publishing thought-provoking articles about the emerging space and videos explaining the inner workings of AI.
According to Karpati, his resignation has nothing to do with any conflicts or dramatic events within OpenAI.

OpenAI recognised Karpathy's contribution to the company and thanked him, wishing him success in the future. His job responsibilities have been transferred to another senior researcher who worked closely with the researcher.
The year 2022 was a challenging one for OpenAI. The company experienced the resignation and subsequent return of CEO Sam Altman, leading to a brief management crisis.
However, the situation has now stabilised. Karpati stresses that the organisation and its team are now in good shape.
