Google introduces a new AI model Gemma

Google has released a new open-source artificial intelligence model called Gemma, developed using technologies from Google's Gemini AI models. Gemma is the company's contribution to the open source community to help developers create artificial intelligence responsibly.

Along with Gemma, Google has introduced the Responsible Generative AI Toolkit, which contains configuration tools and a guide with best practices for AI development based on the company's experience.

Gemma models are available in two different sizes - Gemma 2B and Gemma 7B - both lightweight and suitable for use on a developer's laptop or desktop. Google claims that Gemma outperforms other open source models on key benchmarks.

The new artificial intelligence is capable of protecting confidential data by using automatic methods to extract personal information.

Google plans to expand Gemma's range in the future, but developers can already access it through the Kaggle platform, the company's Colab laptops, or through Google Cloud.
