LG introduces XBoom XL7, a 250W music on wheels speaker
Few people think of the LG brand first when it comes to Bluetooth music speakers. However, the South Korean company has not abandoned its hopes of attracting attention, and to that end it has announced two music speakers at once. They are called XBoom XL7 and XL5.
Here's What We Know
The LG XBoom XL7 is a large speaker that weighs 14.5kg. The dimensions are 31 x 31.5 x 70 cm. Wheels and a retractable handle are provided for easy movement. Inside is an 8" subwoofer and a pair of 2.5" tweeters. The total power output is 250 watts.
The music speaker has a Pixel LED panel that can display animations, text and images and can also pulsate to the beat of the music being played. LG claims that the XBoom XL7 can run for 20 hours and charges in 3.5 hours. The speaker can be set up via the XBoom mobile app.
The LG XBoom XL 5 is a more compact music speaker. The device weighs around 12kg and has overall dimensions of 28.2 x 59 x 28.2mm. It too is equipped with two 2.5" tweeters, but the woofer is downsized to 6.5". The power output is 200 watts.
Although the weight is reduced by less than 3kg, the speaker has no wheels or handle, so you'll have to carry it in your hands. Also, the XBoom XL 5 has no Pixel LED and runs out of power in 12 hours of use.
Both new products have received support for SCC and AAC codecs. Not only Bluetooth but also USB can be used to connect smartphones. The housings of each speaker are water-resistant to IPX4. The Wireless Party Link function allows synchronised music playback across multiple LG devices.
Price & When We Can Expect It
The price of LG XBoom XL7 and XL5 has not been specified yet. There is no information about the sales start date either.
