NIO and Shell launch Europe's first battery replacement station for electric cars
Electric car manufacturer NIO and fuel company Shell have launched the first joint battery exchange station in Europe.

The station has been launched in Harmelen, the Netherlands. It enables electric car drivers to quickly and easily change from an empty battery to a fully charged one. The process is quicker than charging. Thanks to these stations, owners of electric cars will be able to travel long distances without any problems in the future.

NIO and Shell signed a cooperation agreement in November 2021. The partnership includes a plan to set up joint battery replacement stations as well as fast chargers for electric cars in China and Europe. By the way, NIO and Shell plan to launch at least 100 such stations in China by 2025.
