macOS Sonoma: improved widgets, game mode and new features for video conferencing

Following iOS 17, watchOS 10, iPadOS 17, Apple also revealed a new version of macOS at WWDC 2023.

The new system has been named Sonoma. The main innovation of the software is the improved widgets. Now they can be added to the desktop. Widgets will become transparent and change their colour depending on the set wallpaper, so as not to distract the user with open windows. Also Apple adds the possibility to install widgets from iPhone, but it is necessary for both devices to be in the same Wi-Fi network.

Also macOS Sonoma boasts new features for video conferencing. For example, users can set a background with a presentation during a call thanks to machine learning. Apple has also added support for different animations and many other small but useful changes.

In addition, Apple has revealed in macOS Sonoma an updated Safari browser with work profiles and improved security, web apps, and a game mode. With it, your Mac will focus all of its power on gaming performance.

When We Can Expect It

The bata version of macOS Sonoma is already available for developers. Public Beta will be released in July and the stable version is expected to be released this fall.
