Samsung T5 EVO: SSD drive with up to 8TB capacity and transfer speeds of up to 460MB/second

Samsung has announced a new SSD drive.

Here's What We Know

The novelty has been named Samsung T5 EVO. This is a simplified version of the T5 model, which debuted back in 2017. The drive has a metal case with a rubberised surface and weighs 102 grams. The manufacturer claims that the drive is safe from drops of up to 1.8 metres. The device supports data transfer speeds up to 460 MB/s and comes with USB 3.2 Gen 2 (5 Gbps) interface. The novelty is based on Samsung's new V-NAND technology and comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable. There are three capacities to choose from: 1TB, 4TB or 8TB.

Samsung T5 EVO is already on sale. The novelty is priced from $189.
