Looking Glass Go - a $300 pocket-sized "holographic" display
A pocket-sized "holographic" display has appeared on Kickstarter. It is developed by Looking Glass and is called Looking Glass Go.
Here's What We Know
The company has managed to create several stereoscopic displays of different sizes for several years. Looking Glass Go has a diagonal of 6" and a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, and the device itself has a foldable design. ABS plastic, steel and glass were used to create the screen.
Looking Glass Go weighs 235g with dimensions of 19 x 160 x 80mm. At the same time, the thickness of the glass itself in the screen is only 1 cm. There are slide show control keys and a headphone jack on the side.
The device can be carried in your pocket, but it will still need to be connected to an external power source via USB-C. Under the bonnet of Looking Glass Go there are Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless adapters. But there is no speaker.
The novelty will come with a package of software and services that will allow the user to create stereo images from photos, videos and games. The cost of Looking Glass Go is $300. Sales will start at the end of the second quarter of 2024. The company has already raised more than $300,000 of its $50,000 goal.
