An algae-covered iPhone 12 has been at the bottom of a river for 3 months - and it still works!

We have repeatedly heard stories about how smartphones "survived" after being underwater for a long time. Such an amazing story happened with iPhone 12, which lay at the bottom of the river for 3 months.

Details

A diver named Lee was cleaning a river in Northern California and found an algae-covered iPhone 12 at the bottom. The smartphone looked unlivable, but the man decided to give it a chance and pulled it out of the water. He dried it for a few days before plugging it into a charger. Surprisingly, the gadget switched on and worked normally.

Apparently, it didn't have a password on it because Lee was able to unlock the phone and view the information. The last video taken on the river was dated 4 September, which means the iPhone 12 has been at the bottom of the river for 3 months.

Now the diver wants to find the owner of the smartphone and return the find to him.

By the way, officially iPhone 12 and newer models have IP68 waterproofing, which allows immersion under water to a depth of 6 metres for a maximum of 30 minutes.
