Google has sold 27.6 million Pixel smartphones in 6 years, only 1/10th of all Samsung smartphones sold in 2021
Bloomberg technology column editor Vlad Savov, referring to the data of the analytical company IDC, shared statistics on sales of Pixel smartphones.
Here's What He Said
Since the first Pixel smartphone was announced in 2016, Google has sold 27.6 million devices. That is, on average, the company sells 4.6 million smartphones each year. Of course, some years the sales are better and some are worse.
Since Google launched Pixel phones in 2016, it's sold 27.6 million units. That's 1/10 of Samsung's 2021 sales. In other words, Google would need 60 years to sell as many phones as Samsung sells in one.

Data: IDC
By comparison, 26.7 million is only 1/10th of all Samsung smartphones sold in 2021. That is, it will take Google about 60 years to catch up with the annual sales of the Korean manufacturer.
By the way, now Google is preparing for the presentation of a new line of smartphones: Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. They will be unveiled today, October 6.
