Samsung continues to lead the European smartphone market - Xiaomi and Apple round out the Top 3
Samsung is still the leader of the European smartphone market. The South Korean company, despite the recession, has a share of more than 30%.
Here's What We Know
Samsung sold 11.5 million smartphones in the third quarter of 2023, down 6% from the same period last year. In quantitative terms, shipments were down by about 800,000 units.
The second place is occupied by Apple with a share of 22%. It sold 7.1 million smartphones, i.e. 1 million less than in the base period. But Xiaomi lost nothing and even managed to increase its share from 18% to 19%. 6.2 million smartphones sold was enough to get into the Top 3.
The Top 5 is rounded out by Motorola and TCL, which shipped 1.7 million and 0.8 million smartphones respectively. All other manufacturers sold a combined 5.2 million devices. Total shipments in the reporting period totalled 32.5 million smartphones, down 6 per cent from the third quarter of 2022.
