Chinese companies have increased smartphone deliveries to Europe

In the third quarter of 2021 Chinese companies managed to significantly increase the supply of smartphones in Europe, as evidenced by the latest Counterpoint report.

What we know

According to the analytical agency, in the third quarter of this year the European market decreased by only 1% compared to the same period in 2020. Huawei and Honor lost the most, now controlling 0.5% each of the market. In the base period their shares were 8.1% and 4.8% respectively.

But three companies increased their shipments of smart phones at once. Vivo succeeded the most. During the year it increased the shipments by 238%, due to which the market share grew from 0.5% to 1.8%. But even such a breakthrough did not allow it to enter the top 5.

The ranking is occupied by Realme with 2.4% share against 0.9% in the basic period, which managed to increase smartphone shipments by 160%. OPPO controls 10.1%, supplying 112% more devices in the reporting period than in the basic one.

There was a change in Top 3. Xiaomi's share increased from 15.5% to 23.6% and Apple's from 17.6% to 22.1%. In this regard, the Chinese company rose to the second line, leaving the American giant at the third position. Samsung remained the leader. Even though the South Korean giant has shifted by 16%, it still controls more than 30% of the European smartphone market.
