Rumour: Google Pixel 7a could be the last smartphone in the A-series
Google will unveil the Pixel 7a smartphone next week. It is rumoured to be the last model in the series.
Here's What We Know
The information was shared by insider @heyitsyogesh. According to him, Google will drastically improve the specs and raise the price of the Pixel 7a this year. Thus, the smartphone will be very similar to the base model Pixel 7. Therefore, to avoid competition within the lineup, Google may drop the A-series in the future and focus on flagship models and foldable devices.
The Pixel a series seems to be coming to an end. With the spec and price bump on the Pixel 7a, it is certain that there won't be any 8a coming.

Google will likely stick with vanilla and Pro models alongside a foldable going forward. Something similar might happen with Samsung

The Pixel 7a will get a 6.1-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz picture refresh rate. The gadget will run the flagship Tensor G2 processor paired with the Titan M2 security chip. Apart from that, the novelty will be equipped with 8GB RAM, 128/256GB ROM, a 64MP dual camera and a battery with support for fast wired and wireless charging. If leaks are to be believed, the smartphone will cost $500-550.
