USB-C bundled cables for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will once again be limited to USB 2.0 transfer speeds

According to multiple leaks, this year Apple will introduce smartphones that will feature a USB-C port instead of the company's signature Lightning port for the first time. And while USB-C has several advantages over Lightning, the iPhone 15 is unlikely to get any increase in data transfer speeds.

Details

An insider under the nickname Majin Bu has reported that the USB-C cables that will come with the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be limited to USB 2.0 data transfer speeds of 480MB/s, which is the same speed as Lightning. The fact is that the USB 2.0 standard was adopted back in 2000, and today there are more advanced technologies with higher data transfer rates.

That said, models with the Pro prefix will likely support higher USB-C transfer speeds - rumoured to be "at least" USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3. Thus, they will be able to transfer videos and other file types much faster than the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.

By the way, recently social networks Like the MacBook Air: iPhone 15 will come with colour-matched braided USB-C cables that will be included in the iPhone 15. It is expected that they will be painted in the colour of the smartphone case.
