Analyst: Apple won't release new MacBooks with M3 processor this year
Earlier, several sources said that after the September presentation, where the smartphones of the iPhone 15 line will debut, Apple will hold another event in October. It was expected to feature the first Mac models equipped with M3 processors. However, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo refutes this information.
Here's What We Know
According to early leaks, the 13-inch MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and 24-inch iMac were expected to be un veiled in October. And the more powerful M3 Pro, M3 Ultra, and M3 Max variants were expected to arrive sometime in 2024.
But Ming-Chi Kuo is confident that Apple won't release new MacBooks with the M3 processor until the end of 2023. And when exactly to wait for laptops - the analyst does not specify.
By the way, in his post Ming-Chi Kuo mentions exactly "MacBook models". Therefore, it is possible that there will be no laptops this year, but there will be other Mac models based on M3 - for example, iMac computer. Perhaps Apple simply can't produce enough M3 chips for its laptops, which are much more mass-produced than desktop Macs.
