Google is working on Nearby calling feature, it will allow Pixel smartphone owners to answer calls from the Nest Hub smart display
Yesterday, on October 27, Google unexpectedly unveiled its operating system Android 12L. Dataminer Mishaal Rahman (Mishaal Rahman) poked around in the firmware and found there an interesting feature called Nearby calling.
What we know
Nearby calling is a technology which will allow Google Pixel smartphone owners to transfer calls or answer them directly from the Google Nest Hub smart display. Moreover, we're not just talking about cellular conversations, but also calls through apps. For example, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or Zoom. Naturally, for the function to work, both gadgets need to be connected to the same network. The Nearby calling will allow to make calls via Google Assistant.
This screen comes from a new app that's pre-installed in the Android 12L DP called "Cross-Device Communication Service" The package name is https://t.co/IVP7xs9Wwk.pixel.exo. Yes, this is the APK for phone-to-Chromebook app streaming that we've been waiting for. pic.twitter.com/b9EdPQ9a3E
