Mercedes has opened its own branded charging hub in Europe.

Here's What We Know

The hub with charging stations for electric vehicles has gone live at the Mercedes subsidiary in Mannheim, in the Rhine-Main-Neckar region of Germany. This is one of the country's most important transport corridors.

The hub has received six charging stations with a capacity of 300 kW each. The chargers have one port each. Due to the high capacity, some electric vehicles can be charged from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in less than 20 minutes. By the way, any electric car can be charged with the charging stations, but Mercedes owners have advantages: lower tariff, plug-and-charge support, and the possibility to charge their car for a free month via the Mercedes me Charge app.

The hub will be on the maps in all Mercedes cars. In the future, users will also be able to pre-book a charging spot. In 2024, the company is going to launch similar hubs in Italy, Spain and France. By the way, such stations have previously appeared in the US and China.
