Taiwan denies rumours of the demise of China's Type 093-class nuclear-powered submarine carrying Yu-3, Yu-4, Yu-6 torpedoes and YJ-82 anti-ship cruise missiles
The day before, the media reported that a Chinese Type 093-class nuclear-powered submarine sank near the Taiwan Strait. However, Taiwan's Ministry of Defence denied the rumours.

The media reported a serious accident of the nuclear submarine, which resulted in the death of all crew members. However, Taiwan's Ministry of Defence said that the military regularly conducts surveillance and could not confirm this information.
Type 093 is a nuclear-powered attack submarine built for the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy. It is 107 metres long, 11 metres wide, has a draft of 7.5 metres and a displacement of nearly 6,100 tonnes.
The submarine is equipped with Type 359 radar and can launch 533mm Yu-3, Yu-4, Yu-6 torpedoes. In addition, the Type 093 nuclear-powered submarine is armed with YJ-82 anti-ship cruise missiles with a maximum flight speed of 1,100 kilometres per hour (M=0.9).
