Insider Tom Henderson shared exclusive information about the two main characters of Assassin's Creed Red: players will indeed see the story of an African samurai and a shinobi girl
The fact that Assassin's Creed Red will have two main characters - a shinobi girl and an African samurai - has been known for a long time. However, insider Tom Henderson shared the clarified information received from his sources.
Here's What We Know
Henderson said that he is now 100% sure that the male protagonist in Assassin's Creed Red is a real historical character named Yasuke, who was the first dark-skinned man to attain the title of samurai in Japan.
The only thing the insider isn't sure about is the character's name: he admits that Ubisoft may change it.
According to Insider Gaming's sources, the story of "Yasuke" in Assassin's Creed Red will begin with an attack on his ship, resulting in the ship's sinking and the African's beloved being killed. He will enter the service of the samurai Oda Nobunaga (also a real historical character) and eventually earn the title of samurai.
Henderson also shared information about the shinobi girl: her name is Naoe Fujibayashi and she will have a conflict with Yasuke at the beginning of the game, after which they will act together in an effort to unite Japan.
If Henderson's information is confirmed, Assassin's Creed Red will be the first game in the series to have an actual historical character as the protagonist (previously they were only secondary characters).
