If cats are in fashion right now, you might want to check out another game that pays a lot of attention to furry pets. Only in The Excavation of Hob's Barrow, cats aren't cute at all - they clearly portend something bad.

Antiquarian Thomas in a Bateman writes a book about the mounds of England and documents the treasures she finds in them. One day the heroine receives an intriguing invitation to the village of Bewley in the remote countryside. Thomasina boards a train and sets off. Her assistant is due to arrive after her a day later.

When Tomasina arrives, she finds that the person who invited her cannot be found. The assistant does not show up. The obstinate landowner keeps the heroine away from the mound, and the locals look askance at the woman - after all, she travels alone and even wears pants!

And then Tomasina begins to have strange dreams.
