End of Era - Overwatch will stop selling loot boxes starting September
All good things must come to an end. Overwatch, which at one time set the fashion for loot boxes, is going to give up this form of earning. Players will be able to buy boxes with random rewards up to and including the end of the online shooter's sixth anniversary festive event. Blizzard announced this in the description of "Holiday Remix: Part 3".
For the period of anniversary celebration, seasonal battles will return to the game: story cooperative adventures, lusibol, capture the flag and other modes. Their launch will take place on specific days. Users will also get a chance to have legendary images from the archives.
Perhaps the exclusion of loot boxes in the first Overwatch is preparation for the release of the sequel, in which they will not be at all. Instead, the project is going to be monetized with combat passes and in-game store.
