Protection on the Nintendo Switch should not affect the console's performance in games
Denuvo, known for its failed DRM technology, has set its sights on protecting the Nintendo Switch from pirates. And it wasn't Nintendo itself that asked for this, but the publishers and developers.
Here’s What We Know
The problem is that the company's previous protection technologies have had a negative impact on game performance. Although Denuvo assures us that this time everything will be okay.
"...The protection is designed not to affect the gaming experience, and it has no effect on performance in the game. The same goes for this new solution, where the protection is active only in performance-critical parts of the code."- Rep.
Nintendo's console protection does not require an Internet connection through console mobility, and will also protect games from running on PC emulators.
"Making dumps of a purchased game to back it up is a long-standing argument to justify piracy. Most players use emulators with dumps from pirated sources and don't make them themselves. Even if they create a dump themselves, they still need a jailbroken console to run the game."
